MyCoast has been developed to provide information and serve as a platform for engaging with the local community and visitors about the Cooloola Coast's natural assets and pristine environment. MyCoast focuses on the Cooloola Coast townships of Tin Can Bay, Rainbow Beach, and Cooloola Cove, but will also cover a broader coastal area.
MyCoast aims to gather coastal environmental information and visual records of sand erosion and accretion to document changes along our coastline. The app will help profile beach areas, record visual water quality data, and identify and report pollution sources. This data will contribute to our understanding of coastal impacts by engaging the community and enhancing citizen science participation.
Additionally, MyCoast will assist councils in collecting information to assess changes and impacts on the coastline, identifying resilient and non-resilient areas. This information will be used to inform resilience enhancement projects and restoration efforts.

The Coastal Monitoring App is proudly funded by the Queensland Government's QCoast2100 Program.
