State of the Art – QLD Quilters Inc
Art quilts celebrating the 40th year of Queensland Quilters and 15 years of the ‘SOTA’ competition.
Queensland Quilters’ have been exhibiting members’ works through a juried exhibition called State of the Art (SOTA) since 2009. Queensland Quilters’ objectives through SOTA are to bring together art quilters to exhibit their work and show their talents, give due recognition to the role of the art quilt as an art form and to demonstrate the changing role of the quilting arts.
The 2024 theme of ‘Red Expressions’ feature a wide range of techniques including painting, printing, eco dyeing, collage, hand and machine stitching and more. The work has to have 2 layers or more, held together in some way.
Official opening and presentation of prizes: Saturday 25 May, 1.30pm. Free entry, all welcome.
