Wildflowering by Design

Back

The Wildflowering by Design touring exhibition presents works by Queensland artists who work across the art and design spectrum, taking a fresh look at our botanical and wildflower heritage.

For this show, exhibition artists were invited to engage with this botanical heritage, local landscapes, plants and stories to create new work across the art and design spectrum. In celebrating the botanical environment through a design lens, Wildflowering by Design artists explore natural materials, co-design processes, handcrafting, and the digital realm.

The exhibition is curated by Dr Susan Davis (OAM) and Dr Lisa Chandler from the Sunshine Coast. Artists featured come from Brisbane to the Bundaberg region including: Rose Barrowcliffe, Nai Nai Bird, Renata Buziak, Donna Davis, Joolie Gibbs, Anne Harris, Nicole Jakins, Shelley Pisani, Edith Rewa, Cara Ann Simpson, Marni Stuart and Emma Thorp.

Work by other artists from the region will contribute to a local component of the show.

Official opening event: Saturday 25 January, 11am. See here for more information.

Open during normal Gallery hours, Tuesday to Friday 10am – 4pm, Saturday 10am – 2pm. Entry is free, all welcome.
