Gympie Regional Council is a registered water service provider: WSP485.
The safety of water supply schemes and environmental impact of sewage treatment is closely regulated by the Queensland Government via a number of acts and regulations.
It is a requirement of a number of these regulatory frameworks that council publish annual performance data on its website for the information of customers.
The Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008 requires Queensland water service providers to publish specified performance data for the previous financial year on their website.
This includes measures of council's performance against its Customer Service Standard, environmental licences and authorities to operate environmentally relevant activities, water quality and supply standards set in its Drinking Water Quality Management Plan, and its financial accountability for performance as a business unit.
The Water and Sewerage Annual Performance Report provides the data for Council's performance in relation to these specified activities for the last complete reporting period.
The 2022-2023 Annual Report on Drinking Water Quality Management Plan (DWQMP) demonstrates to customers, stakeholders and the regulator that Council has satisfactorily implemented their approved DWQMP for the previous financial year.
Queensland Water produces a Benchmarking Report each financial year to compare Water & Sewer service providers performances.
