Waste Education Program

Cleanaway offers face-to-face waste education sessions for preschool, primary school, secondary school, university and TAFEs. All our programs are carefully curated to strengthen knowledge and practice of local waste management guidelines, support state education syllabus and engage students in sustainable waste management practices while fostering a sense of environmental stewardship. This free educational program supported by Council, will be organised and presented by a Cleanaway Waste Educator who will come and speak at your school.

Sessions offered by Cleanaway include:

Recycling and Waste Management

These sessions provide information and guidance on setting up and maintaining worm farms and compost systems. Students learn about the benefits of composting and worm farming, including reducing organic waste and producing nutrient-rich compost for gardens.

Worm Farming and Composting

These sessions focus on educating students about proper recycling practices and waste management strategies. Students learn about the importance of recycling, how to correctly sort recyclables, and the impact of recycling on resource conservation and waste reduction.
