The Conservation Plan for Memorial Park
Memorial Park is a recognised landmark in the heart of Gympie. It is an important part of the region and on the State Heritage Register.
Council has approved a plan to preserve its heritage status. It will ensure the park continues to be a memorial as well as a valuable public open space.
The plan provides direction for the management of the park’s heritage value into the future. It secures the long-term vision of all elements of the park. This includes the plantings, trees and gardens, built structures, memorials and its uses.
This is good news for our residents and future generations. The adoption of this plan shows how important preserving the park’s heritage value is.
The Conservation Management Plan was adopted by Gympie Regional Council on 24 October 2018.
