Commercial Bin Collection

Council offers the following services for businesses:

  • 240L commercial waste and recycling – standard service
  • Extra 240L commercial waste only – commercial waste only
  • Extra 240L commercial recycling – commercial recycling only.

The standard service includes one general waste bin per week, and one recycling bin each fortnight.

Businesses in Rainbow Beach receive an extra service each Friday during school holidays. Rainbow Beach businesses that get a few services per week (i.e. Monday and Friday) have their extra school holiday service each Wednesday.

  • Recycling is good for the environment and can help you save on your waste removal costs.

    Items you can recycle are:

    • glass jars, packaging glass and bottles (no other glass items)
    • rigid plastic containers (excluding Styrofoam), plastic trays and plastic bottles
    • aluminium cans, steel cans and aerosols
    • clean cardboard, newspapers, paper, envelopes and magazines.

  • If you have a business, you will need to decide on the type and size of waste bins and how often you need them emptied. It is best to have a screened bin enclosure that our trucks can access. Keep bin lids on so there will be no water, flies, vermin or odour and have a place to wash the bins.

    You will need to have enough waste containers for waste produced at your premises. You can use a private waste collection business if you prefer.
