Big two weeks on the cards for Council construction crews
A big two weeks ahead for our road construction and maintenance crews with four large construction projects on the go and 32 roads up for some maintenance.
Construction projects:
- Investigator Avenue Upgrade (Nautilus Drive – Queen Elizabeth Drive): The works includes widening of existing road formation with granular pavement and bitumen seal, kerb and channel, driveway reconstruction, concrete footpath, verge profiling, stormwater pits, pipes and subsoil drainage, extension of existing stormwater culverts, street light installation, turfing and tree planting.
- Cooloola Revitalisation Project. Phase 1: Pathway Tin Can Bay to Cooloola Cove: The works involve the removal of existing sections of the AC pathway and construction of new 2.7m wide concrete pathway on Tin Can Bay Road and Bayside Road. The works also include construction of 1.5m wide concrete pathway on Tin Can Bay Road Service Road.
- Cooloola Revitalisation Project. Phase 2: Tin Can Bay Foreshore Pathway: The works involve replacing the existing narrow 1.2m wide sections of pathway along the Tin Can Bay Foreshore with 3.0m wide pathway. Construction of works is currently in the vicinity of Wes Mitchell Park replacing approximately 90m.
- Neerdie Road Widening: The works involve widening of a section of the existing road to a two lane standard. The first phase is the extension of the stormwater pipes to the new road widths.
