Council launches new online business directory

Gympie Regional Council recently established a new Online Business Directory to help support businesses in the Gympie region.

The new directory is a simple and easy to use database that connects customers to over 400 local businesses that registered to be part of Council’s Support Local Campaign.

Visitors to the website can search for individual businesses or select from over fifteen different categories including shopping, food and beverage, trades, automotive, medical and accommodation.

Gympie Regional Council Mayor Glen Hartwig says exposure to customers is important for all businesses especially during these difficult times, and the new online business directory is another way that Council is helping struggling businesses increase traffic through their doors.

“COVID-19 has impacted local businesses unlike anything we have experienced in our lifetimes and it has meant that businesses are experiencing a significant reduction in foot traffic.”

“This new website will allow businesses to reach out and connect with new and existing customers and begin the process of rebuilding as social distancing restrictions begin to ease”, he said.
