Winners announced for the 2022 Du Rietz Art Awards

Winners of the 2022 Du Rietz Art Awards were announced at the Gympie Regional Gallery on Friday evening, 15 July 2022. Winners shared in over $12,000 in prizes over five awards.

220 high quality artworks were received by artists from New Zealand, Sydney, Melbourne, Townsville, Brisbane and the Gympie region.

Emma Thorp took home the major 2D Award for her entry titled ‘Still water’. The 2D Highly Commended Award was won by Terrence Gillespie for his photograph ‘Sector – Gympie’. Buderim artist Carol Forster won the Ceramic Award with her work titled 'Garden sketch'. Local artist Nicole Jakins was awarded the Major 3D Award with her piece 'A quiet gentle [at Sandy Creek, Toolara Forest]’. Ian Gunn was awarded the Locals Award with his painting titled 'Psithurism 2’.

The Du Rietz Art Awards exhibition is on display until Friday, 26 August 2022. An inspiring exhibition that features high quality works from artists who entered this year’s awards.
