Transport and Roads

Road maintenance is managed through a process of inspection and prioritisation, based on the needs of our community. Gympie Regional Council maintains:

  • a total of 2316km of road infrastructure
  • 60 school bus shelters, and
  • 77 bus stops across our road network.

Council staff also maintain and restore timber bridges and walkways, pollutant traps, and traffic signals.

Council is dedicated to ensuring our region’s road network is planned, connected, and safe. The Gympie Traffic Report is a traffic model for Gympie that engineers use to assess traffic impacts of future land development and road network changes.
