Etiquette by Dr Janet Lee
Dr. Janet Lee's first solo exhibition delves into Georgian and Victorian memento mori and mourning rituals.
Inspired by a 1907 experiment on the weight of the soul, Dr. Lee reinterprets mourning traditions from the Georgian (1830-1937) and Victorian (1837-1901) eras.
Through contemporary artist books, prints, stitched objects, and written stories, Dr. Lee's art explores how mourning rituals have shaped western culture. This exhibition invites viewers to reflect on how we remember and honour those who have passed.
Official opening event: Friday 14 March, 6pm – 8pm. See here for more information.
Open during normal Gallery hours, Tuesday to Friday 10am – 4pm, Saturday 10 am – 2pm. Entry is free, all welcome.
