Big two weeks on the cards for Council construction Crews

A big two weeks ahead for Gympie Regional Council’s road construction and maintenance crews with six large construction projects on the go and 23 roads up for some maintenance.

Construction projects

Investigator Avenue, Cooloola Cove: The works include widening of the road with pavement and bitumen seal, kerb and channel, driveway construction, concrete footpaths, verge profiling, stormwater pits, pipes and subsoil drainage, extension of existing stormwater culverts, street light installation, turfing and tree planting.

Amamoor Creek Road: The works include demolition and removal of existing concrete floodway and culvert, construction of a new box culvert structure with reconstructed concrete floodway over, earthworks, reconstruction of sealed approached roads, signage, permanent rock scour protection, temporary gravel sidetrack and erosions and sediment control measures during construction.

Hughes Terrace – Asphalt Overlay: The works include removal and replacement of concrete kerb and channel, pavement digout and replacement, full width asphalt overlay, linemarking, signage and turfing.

David Drive, Curra – Street Renewal: The works involve an asphalt overlay of the existing sealed surface.

Ferguson Street, Gympie – Stormwater Upgrade: The works include construction of a concrete property access with a bridge type crossover, installation of a road gully unit, and removal and building of kerb and channel.

Bath Terrace, Gympie – Kerb and Channel Upgrade: The works include construction of a concrete property access with a bridge type crossover, installation of a road gully unit, and removal and building of kerb and channel.

Road maintenance activity

  • Grading: Lobwein Road, Glory Hill Road, Keefton Road, Moy Pocket Gap Road, Walker Road.
  • Gravel re-sheeting: Hartwig Road.
  • Unsealed shoulder repairs: Dan Meurant Drive, Thomas Road, Atkinson Road, O’Dea Road, Leigh Court, Cross Crescent, Heather Joy Crescent.
  • Drainage repairs: Bauple-Woolooga Road, Bruce Highway, Boubyjan Road, Haas Road, Holroyd Road, Sawpit Road, Daddamarine Road.
  • Stormwater repairs: Edward Street, Cogan Street, Calton Street.
