At its Ordinary Meeting on Wednesday 20 October, Gympie Regional Council endorsed 31 projects to receive financial assistance as part of Round 1 of the Community Development and Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Grants Programs.

Council’s Community Development Grants Program provides funding for projects that respond to community needs, support Council’s strategic objectives and enhance the social, environmental and cultural wellbeing of the Gympie region. A total of 24 projects will receive financial assistance totalling $78,077 over four categories, including community projects, organisational development, facilities development and hall insurance.

Council’s RADF Grants Program provides financial assistance to eligible individuals, businesses and organisations for projects that respond to local arts and cultural priorities. A total of seven projects will receive funding totaling $34,528 over three categories, including creative community projects, creative concept development and individual skills development.

Councillor Dan Stewart says our region is fortunate to have so many community groups and creatives who will benefit from the financial assistance they receive as part of the grants programs.

“It was good to see such a large variety of groups and creatives apply for the grants who will be able to use funds they receive to better serve their members and the Gympie region,” he said.

Applications for Round 2 of the Community Development and RADF Grants Programs opens on 1 February 2022.
