QUESTION:
I am running a story on the Wyvern Road project located at Lot 1 MCH842069 and wonder if you have a comment on the project.
It is a hot topic here and you have received 43 submissions from the public and discussion is rife in Rainbow.
Having read through the council application correspondence I can see the ongoing discussions since May 2020 when the initial change of material use was applied for.
I wonder if the Council would make a comment about the development from your perspective. There is talk that the development will be onsold once the development is approved with the new plan and this is of concern.
There has been major concern expressed from the residents of Rainbow Shores, regarding the removal of vegetation and the natural buffer zones which align with the existing development. In your application, it says all vegetation will be removed to negate a fire hazard.
I see there is now a new plan which removes the roundabouts but it doesn't seem to demand any ecological assets remain in keeping with the Rainbow Shores master plan.
ANSWER:
Council is processing a development application over the site and a decision on that is imminent.
If approved, vegetation clearing will be necessary to facilitate the development, however the site is bordered by existing Reserve land for which Council is Trustee. This land will not be cleared.
