Council Libraries, Service Centres and Galleries open to all

Back

The COVID-19 vaccine status public health and social measures announced by the Queensland Government last month and set to come into effect from 17 December will not apply to council-owned libraries and galleries, or any of its customer contact points.

This was confirmed by the Queensland Government last week.

The announcement means that both vaccinated and unvaccinated staff and patrons will be permitted to enter any of the Gympie region’s libraries, service counters, and the gallery.

Council continues to encourage members of the community to talk with their health care professional regarding vaccination against COVID-19.

Council will continue to seek information and guidance on any impact for council facilities, as our state’s response to the pandemic evolves.
