QUESTION:
I understand council's Infrastructure Director as resigned. Is this correct? What was the reason for leaving the council?
What does the CEO have to say about the departure?
Is the CEO concerned one of his new leadership team has left after less than a year in the job, adding to an ongoing carousel of changes within the council's senior leadership team? What is his response to claims this only further adds legitimacy to accusations of internal turmoil within the council?
ANSWER:
Council can confirm that Jim has resigned from his position as Director Infrastructure Services. On behalf of council, I would like to thank Jim for the work he (and the team) have delivered for the benefit of the community. Although some of the work is not visible to residents, his passion and drive in areas such as our water network and security will benefit our region for many years to come. We wish Jim well in his future endeavours.
Council will be advertising the position early in 2022.

QUESTION:
Southside residents around Watson, Sorensen and Ramsey roads saying they have had terrible water pressure for more than a year.
Is the council aware of this problem? Have there been any complaints about the pressure in this area of the Southside? And if so, has the council investigated?
ANSWER:
Gympie Regional Council is not aware of this specific issue.
In the last 12 months council has received only three requests for service in this area. Two on Sorensen Road which were internal galvanised pipes which had corroded, and one internal Pressure Relief Valve which needed adjusting on Watson Road. (However issues with internal piping and fittings are the owner’s responsibility and can be identified and fixed by a licenced plumber).
Council crews will carry out some pressure testing over the next couple of days.
