Today at its Ordinary Meeting held at the Town Hall, Gympie Regional Council endorsed a new integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Electronic Document Records Management (EDRM) solution.

The preferred proposal was awarded to Queensland based software supplier Technology One and will cost $5.91 million over 5 years.

The new integrated solution will transform Council’s business processes, procedures, and systems integrations to support Council’s needs now and into the future.

Council received eight submissions as part of its Request for Proposal process, including current supplier Civica Pty Ltd, and were evaluated based on price, functionality, cyber security considerations and the level of support provided to implement the new software.

Councillor Bruce Devereaux says this is a great outcome as the new IT system will provide a number of benefits not only to council staff but residents as well.

“Our current IT systems have been out of date for a while, which has impacted how we deliver our services to the community.

“Although the cost and work required is significant, I believe the proposal put together by Technology One will ensure we have the best IT system to deliver a more efficient and better quality level of service to all ratepayers in the region,” he said.

Council has allocated $2.7m in its 2021-222 budget for stage 1 of the project and will take 2.5 years to implement.
