Youth Week 2023 - we need you!
Are you aged between 12 and 25, live in the Gympie region and are interested in having your say about Youth Week 2023? Gympie Regional Council has the ‘gig’ for you! Council is inviting young people to offer their ideas and get involved in helping design a series of events and activities for Youth Week 2023 – by youth, for youth.
Held from Tuesday 11 April to Monday 17 April 2023, Youth Week will focus on the creative power of young people in the region.
An annual celebration of young people and the positive contributions they make to Queensland communities, Youth Week provides an opportunity for collaboration, developing new skills and getting involved in activities and workshops.
All contributions and ideas are welcome and can be shared via council’s Youth Week Survey (see below). There is also an opportunity for youth in the region to get involved in the event planning process and collaborate with other young people in the community to create a fun and exciting event.
Councillor Dan Stewart encourages the region’s young people to engage themselves in learning new skills and sharing their ideas.
“We would love to see the young people of the Gympie region contribute suggestions and ideas to help us plan Youth Week 2023.
“This is also a great opportunity to learn some new skills in event planning and management. It would be excellent to see young people complete our survey and get involved in creating a fantastic event for the local community,” Cr Stewart said.
If you are between 12 and 25, you can have your say by filling out the survey via council’s website or the attached QR code. To get some hands-on experience and new skills in event planning, email council’s Community Development team at community@gympie.qld.gov.au.
