Nominations Open for 2023 Senior Citizen of the Year Awards!

Back

These awards honour and celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of senior members of our community who have made a positive impact through their dedication, service, and leadership.

Gympie Regional Council Mayor Glen Hartwig encourages local community members to recognise and celebrate the contributions made by seniors and consider nominating them for an award.

“Every single day our senior community members generously dedicate their time and talents, selflessly giving back to the community in many ways. Their dedication and commitment are truly admirable, and their invaluable contributions often go unnoticed,” Mayor Hartwig said.

“These awards are a great opportunity to shine the spotlight on key individuals and the positive contributions they make in our community. If you are aware of someone whose efforts deserve recognition, we kindly encourage you to consider nominating them.”

The Senior Citizen of the Year Awards will coincide with Seniors Month in October and form part of a month-long celebration of seniors in the local community, and across Queensland.

Nominations for the Senior Citizen of the Year Awards are open to individuals aged 60 or above who have made notable contributions to the local community within the last 12 months.
