Calling All Creatives! Expressions of Interest now open for Gympie Region Studio Trails 2024
Artists, artisans, heritage workers, and designers of the Gympie region are invited to participate in Studio Trails 2024!
Expressions of Interest are open until Sunday 11 February and successful applicants will be notified by Friday 16 February. There are no costs to participating artists.
Studio Trails is a popular annual initiative of Gympie Regional Gallery and supports the development of the creative sector in the Gympie region. It provides opportunities for the creative community to work as part of a network and share their passion and talents with the region, and beyond.
In 2024 Studio Trails will be divided into four separate trails organised by easy driving routes. Trails will be flexible, but generally organised by East, West, North, and South. Each Trail will open for one weekend from 10am – 4pm. Central Gympie will be open for all four weekends, and artists in the central Gympie area particularly are encouraged to nominate for multiple weekends.
Trail 1: Gympie and surrounds to the East 6 & 7 July 2024
Trail 2: Gympie and surrounds to the West 13 & 14 July 2024
Trail 3: Gympie and surrounds to the North 20 & 21 July 2024
Trail 4: Gympie and surrounds to the South 27 & 28 July 2024
This year the Studio Trails program is being extended to include different types of destinations for those who do not have a studio. Applications can include:
• Studio, atelier, rehearsal room, or workshop (a place where work is created)
• Gallery or shop (a place where work is displayed)
• Public art (a publicly viewable artwork)
• Museum, heritage, or destination of interest (museums, historical locations, gardens, cemeteries, other points of interest)
• Eat and stay destination (café, restaurant, hotel, other)
As part of Gympie Region Studio Trails 2024, the Gallery is also offering a free get-together and information session on Saturday 13 January from 9am. Tea, coffee, and breakfast pastries will be provided. This session will provide an opportunity to connect with fellow artists, hear more about this year’s program, and ask any questions you may have.
