Have your say on the proposed Tin Can Bay fenced off-leash dog park
This project aims to enhance recreational opportunities for both residents and visitors, and council is eager to hear the community's thoughts.
Council is seeking input to understand the desired amenities to be included in the dog park and the location. The suggested fenced off-leash dog park locations include Norman Point/Les Lee Park, H.A. Chooky Mallet Park, the vacant land next to the Tin Can Bay Council Depot (Corner of Gympie Road and Coral Trout Drive), and Wes Mitchell Park.
Gympie Regional Council Chief Executive Officer, Robert Jennings, expressed the importance of public participation.
"We want Tin Can Bay and the wider Cooloola Coast to be a place where both residents and visitors can enjoy quality outdoor activities, and an off-leash dog park is a positive step towards achieving that goal.
"Your input is invaluable. We want to ensure that the delivered project is not only convenient but provides a facility reflective of the needs of our community. If you have five minutes to spare, I encourage you to fill out the survey." He said.
The "Have Your Say" period opens at 8am on Wednesday 31 January 2024, and closes at 5pm on Wednesday 13 March 2024.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to visit the Gympie Regional Council website to access the survey and share their thoughts on the proposed fenced off-leash dog park. The findings of this community engagement will play a vital role in guiding council's final decision.
