Road Closures and Traffic Changes in Gympie CBD due to Flood Repair Works (March/April/May)
Please be advised that several roads within the Gympie CBD will undergo changed traffic conditions as flood repair works take place. Durack Civil, on behalf of Gympie Regional Council, will be conducting repair works on the following roads
- Perseverance Street – Sunday, 17 March
- Mount Pleasant Road & John Street – Sunday, 17 March
- Reef Street, Monkland Street, River Road and Jaycee Way – Sunday, 14 April
- Duke Street – Sunday, 28 April
- Henry Street – Sunday, 28 April
- Mary Street – Sunday, 28 April
- Nash Street – Sunday, 28 April
- O'Connell Street* – Sunday, 28 April
- Graham Street & River Road – Sunday, 19 May
- Connemara Court* – Sunday, 26 May
- Jaryd Place* – Sunday, 26 May
- Red Hill Road – Sunday, 26 May
- Tyrrell Road* – Sunday, 26 May
- Young Street – Sunday, 26 May
*Detour maps are not available, traffic control will be on site to assist local traffic.
Please note that the above dates are subject to weather conditions. Contractors will notify nearby businesses and residents before commencing works.
The project aims to remove failing sections of road surface and replace them with new asphalt to enhance road quality for all users.
During the works, traffic flow will be interrupted from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Detours will be in place, and maps of detour routes are linked to the associated road above. Access to properties and businesses within the road closure areas will be maintained during construction. Traffic management measures will ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists.
