Country Music Star Taylor Moss to headline Gympie Rally Rocks
Gympie Regional Council is excited to announce that Taylor Moss will be headlining the inaugural Gympie Rally Rocks concert on Saturday, 29 June 2024, as part of a three-day extravaganza celebrating all things offroad racing.
The concert, which is taking place at the Gympie Showgrounds from 5 pm to 9 pm, is a fresh addition to Rally Gympie Region, which is returning to the region for its third year.
Taylor Moss has risen to prominence as one of Australia's leading female country artists, achieving remarkable success on the charts. With two number 1 hits and five top 5 hits on Australian country radio, her streaming numbers have surpassed 10 million. Remarkably, all this success has been accomplished before the release of a debut album.
Joining Taylor at Gympie Rally Rocks is a packed lineup of local artists, including Dan Horne, Brooke Schubert, Linc Phelps, and Route 33.
Gympie Regional Council Mayor Glen Hartwig said Rally Gympie Region continues to grow year after year, and it is Council’s ambition to make it the premier destination event on our regional calendar.
“Deciding to host a concert of this magnitude is the perfect way to bring in a new audience who will come for the concert but stay to watch the rally action,” Cr Hartwig said.
The economic benefit of having the concert and the rally in our region is expected to be substantial.
“I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the organisers, volunteers, Council staff, and partners who have worked tirelessly on this event. Your dedication and passion have made Rally Gympie Region possible, and I am grateful for your commitment to our community.”
The new ‘Gympie Rally Rocks’ concert will follow on from Gympie’s largest street party ‘Wheels on Mary’, which will take over Mary Street on Friday, 28 June from 5pm to 9pm.
This family-friendly event offers people the chance to get up close and personal with over 60 rally cars, meet the drivers, enjoy dazzling street performances, indulge in delicious food from local vendors, and experience amazing live music. Plus, witness the transformation of each tree along the street, adorned with intricate handmade designs, as part of the Winter Trees celebration.
For those seeking a deeper dive into off-road racing, the Kickass Rally Village at the Gympie Showgrounds awaits from Saturday, 29 to Sunday 30 June. Here, rally enthusiasts can mingle with teams and crews, explore automotive tradeshows, enjoy delicious fare from local food and market stalls, and immerse themselves in the world of rally racing. Entry to the Gympie Showgrounds is free.
And of course, the highlight of the weekend is the Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland, taking place from Friday, 28 to Sunday 30 June. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Gympie Region forestry, spectators can witness the adrenaline-fueled action of live rally car racing from numerous prime viewing spots.
