  • Sunday, 21 July: Smithfield Street to Fiveways Roundabout

Works will commence each day from 8am.

Type of works

Council will be undertaking standard pruning maintenance on all trees in Mary and Smithfield Street to address tree structure, size and to reduce overhang on nearby buildings.

Additionally, three trees will be removed:

  • Leopard tree located near Memorial Lane, severely damaged during a building fire.
  • Yellow Flame Tree near Cullinane’s Plaza, has structural issues that pose a concern for public safety.
  • Weeping Lilly Pilly near Queenslander Hotel, severely damaged by a truck.

The three trees identified for removal will be replaced with suitable species in the coming months that will continue to uphold the aesthetics of the street.

No other trees are identified for removal as part of these works.
