Road Closures and Traffic Changes due to Flood Repair Works (September/October 2024)
As part of Gympie Regional Council’s ongoing efforts to rebuild the region following the 2022 flood events, the next package in a series of flood repair works is set to commence in the coming weeks as part of Council’s Building a Resilient Region program.
Several roads within the Gympie Region will experience changed traffic conditions from 6 am to 6 pm as Durack Civil, on behalf of Gympie Regional Council, undertakes essential repairs on the following roads as part of Eastern Roads Contruction Package 03:

Kirchner Street, Rainbow Beach – Wednesday, 11 September

Laminex Road, Toolara Forest *– Thursday, 12 September

Canberra Avenue, Cooloola Cove – Monday, 9 to Thursday, 19 September

Snapper Creek Road, Tin Can Bay – Tuesday, 24 to Sunday, 29 September

Maori Lane, Gympie – Wednesday, 2 October

Pinewood Avenue, Gympie* – Thursday, 3 October
*Detour maps are not available, traffic control will be on site to assist local traffic.
Please note that the above dates are subject to weather conditions. Contractors will notify nearby businesses and residents before commencing works.
Works on these roads include but are not limited to resealing, pavement repair, excavation works, asphalt surfacing, and pothole repair to restore flood-affected areas and improve the current condition for all road users.
These works are delivered as part of council’s Building a Resilient Region program
