Exciting New Limited Edition Library Card Competition

Gympie Regional Council Library now has a fun and stylish new, limited edition Du Rietz Art Award Membership card. Existing and new members can receive this stunning new library card featuring the colourful painting “Crab Creek Interlude” by Robyn Shaw, a Du Rietz Art Award Finalist 2024. 

These charming new cards are available at all of Council’s Libraries, anyone can join up and receive the attractive new design today. Sign up before Monday, September 30 and you will go in the draw to win one of ten family pool passes for the Gympie Aquatic and Recreation Centre thanks to Belgravia Leisure. 

Andree Stark, Gympie Regional Council Manager, Community and Commercial Services said that libraries have so much to offer the local community. 

"I encourage everyone who is not a member of the library to come and join during the month of September to secure a limited-edition library card, showcasing artwork from Robyn Shaw. Locals should take advantage of all the great free resources and activities the library offers especially with the school holidays approaching." 

Gympie Region Visual Artist, Robyn Shaw said she was proud to have her artwork on the new card. 

“I am honoured to have my painting on the new Library cards. I love the Gympie region and the sense of community we have here.” 

New and existing members can sign up to receive this unique new card, but residents should be quick as numbers are limited. Come along and be part of the many organisations who hold meetings at council libraries including social groups, mahjong enthusiasts, book clubs, scrabble, art, craft, writing and historic societies. 

In addition to this, there are a range of fun workshops for various hobbies and pursuits including watercolour classes, sewing introductions, writer discussions, bushranger info sessions, 3D Printer introductions, travelling workshops, and much more. There are even activities for young teens including designing t-shirts, macrame wall hangings and beaded bracelets.
