Get ready for Gympie's biggest ever emergency services expo and family fun day
Gympie Regional Council is thrilled to announce the 2024 Emergency Services Expo and Family Fun Day, taking place at Nelson Reserve, Gympie on Saturday, 19 October from 2pm – 6pm.
Bring the family for a fun day out to meet Emergency Services first responders and explore emergency vehicles up close, experience Emergency Services demonstrations and displays, kids’ activities, entertainment, a free community BBQ, and more.
This year's event promises to be the largest one yet, packed with even more activities and rides for the whole family to enjoy, including a chair-o-plane, rock wall, trampolines, jumping castle, and sports games.
Gympie Regional Council Mayor Glen Hartwig said this action-packed day is a wonderful way for the community to come together.
“We can all play a part in getting ready for bushfire and storm season, and this event is a fun way to learn how. Come along for the demonstrations, rides, entertainment, BBQ. The day is going to be a lot of fun,” Cr Hartwig said.
“There will be a lot of experts on hand to help individuals, families, businesses and visitors to best prepare for the summer weather season.
With the increase in activities this year, there’s going to be something for everyone at this year’s Emergency Services Expo and Family Fun Day.
Remember, being informed is the key to being prepared.”
The Emergency Services Expo and Family Fun Day coincides with Queensland’s Get Ready Week (8-13 October) and will offer education and entertainment, as well as provide tips and tools to prepare the community on how to stay safe before, during and after severe weather events.
Come out and be part of the fun while getting prepared for the summer weather season.
