Council strengthens community ties through grants announcement
Gympie Regional Council is supporting the outstanding work of local community groups, with several organisations receiving funding as part of Council’s Community Grants Program.
Thirty-one groups have been offered financial assistance as part of the first round of competitive grants for the financial year, totalling $311,665 across several funding categories including community development, facilities, environmental projects and programs, creative projects, and community events.
Gympie Mayor Glen Hartwig said the Grants Program offered vital assistance to grassroots organisations making a difference in the community.
“Our region is made up of so many groups who deliver fantastic initiatives for our community, and Council is proud to support their efforts in making Gympie a better place to live,” Cr Hartwig said.
“These programs, events, and initiatives play a big part in connecting residents and visitors, supporting local businesses, and creating new and exciting events for everyone to be a part of, and I congratulate all of the groups for their commitment to our region.”
