Seniors invited to connect and celebrate at the 2024 Seniors Expo

Gympie Regional Council invites all seniors to attend the 2024 Seniors Expo on Thursday, 31 October, from 9 am to 11:30 am at The Pavilion Conference and Reception Centre, Gympie.  

This free event, part of Queensland Seniors Month celebrations, allows local senior citizens to connect with local services, recreational activities, and social groups in a fun and engaging setting.  

Gympie Regional Council Mayor Glen Hartwig emphasised the importance of recognising and celebrating the contributions of local senior citizens.  

“Queensland Seniors Month provides an opportunity to promote positive community attitudes towards our older residents, facilitate community participation, and enhance community connections,” Cr Hartwig said.  

“Our seniors are the backbone of our community, and events like the Seniors Expo and the celebrations throughout Seniors Month are a great way to show our appreciation and ensure they feel connected and supported.  

"I encourage all seniors to attend this year’s Seniors Expo and take advantage of the services, groups, and activities on offer.”  

A free morning tea will be provided at the Seniors Expo.
