Gympie’s ‘got a bit on’ with a packed events season in 2025

As the weather cools down, Gympie is heating up with a jam-packed season of destination events set to get things sizzling in 2025.

April marks the beginning of consecutive major events and festivals scheduled for across the greater region, and we're calling for everyone to get in on the action.

Gympie Mayor Glen Hartwig said the region was building a reputation as one of Queensland’s premier event destinations, and now was the time to clear the diary and get excited for the months ahead.

“Our region is busting at the seams with unique events that tweak a range of interests, and this year is shaping up to be the biggest yet,” Cr Hartwig said.

“Council is proud to sponsor and support these incredible community events, which not only drive economic growth across region by drawing in millions in direct local expenditure every year, they also contribute to the social fabric of our community.

“Kicking off in April, you’ll see the region come alive with the Rainbow Adventure X Festival which will see international sky divers converge on our coastline for some heart pumping action, Easter on Mary to active the charm and delight of our town centre, and the Kilkivan Great Horse Ride to celebrate our rural showstoppers.

"As we step into May we welcome renowned favourites GourMay Mary Valley Food Festival, Goomeri Pumpkin Festival, and the Gympie Show which are all set to be bigger than ever, and then keen anglers can get into the action at the Rainbow Beach Fishing Classic to kick off June.”

Cr Hartwig said the pace picked up in Winter, with Rally Gympie Region headed back to town for some high-octane adventure.

“We are excited to see Rally Queensland return to the region in July, and this year we’re pulling out all the stops with a thrilling program of activations from 4-6 July.

“The Gympie Rotary Heritage Makers Fair will also take place across the same weekend, which means there’s double the reason to head to town and be a part of this exciting time of year.

“Of course the iconic Gympie Music Muster returns to Amamoor in August, and we are so excited to throw our support behind all of these incredible events that mean so much to our community.

“No matter who you are or what you are interested in, all roads lead to Gympie Region this Autumn, and we are excited to roll out the welcome mat and showcase the incredible community we have here.”
