Community Hall and Venues
Within the Gympie Region local government area there are a total of 33 community halls: 27 halls managed by Incorporated Associations (with Council as trustee/landowner); 4 halls independently owned and managed; and 2 halls owned and managed by Council.
Community halls are used for a variety of community based activities including meetings, recreational activities, cultural events and private functions. Community halls help to encourage community participation and a sense of belonging for local residents.
Many dedicated volunteers ensure that community halls are managed for community use, overseeing day-to-day operations, promotion, bookings and activities. Council is committed to supporting Hall Management Committees in the work that they undertake.
